There is no right or wrong time to start planning your own celebration of life or funeral ceremony, but some people will start the process when they discover that they have a terminal illness, or after a loved one has passed away.

If you have specific ideas that you would like to be included in your funeral, planning your own is a good idea but no one can guarantee that it will be carried out exactly as you have requested.

Everyone has their own reason for pre-planning their ceremony.
Perhaps you have had a full and varied life and wish to ensure that it is all celebrated. Perhaps you don't want to add to the upset and pressure that your family or friends may be feeling when the time comes to say 'goodbye' to you. Or maybe, the process of writing everything down and creating a ceremony that reflects you, helps you come to terms with death and dying.
Creating a ceremony that truly reflects who you are begins with spending quality time together in a comfortable setting. I want to learn all about you—your life, your loves, and your cherished memories.

Together, we'll choose the elements that matter most to you, including music, poems, readings, and possibly prayers and hymns. The ceremony will be written in close collaboration with you and, once it is completed, you will receive both digital and printed copies of the complete script to keep, and I'll also retain a copy for safekeeping.
